Felted Alpaca Exfoliating Loofah Soap

Our exfoliating loofah soap is handmade in the Sacred Valley. As artisans spin alpaca fleece into yarn, they are left with excess fibers that are too short to spin. This can be as much as 20% of the fiber in alpaca fleece. Years ago, we were looking for a way to use the leftover fibers, and we came across a pure castile soap handmade in the Sacred Valley using olive and coconut oils. Our artisan partners tried felting the alpaca fleece around the soap and came up with this fresh, exfoliating, gentle, clean felted soap. Originally they made this soap just to use up leftover fibers, but now it is a bestseller in its own right. Just add water and scrub to lather the soap, then set it on the counter to dry between uses. You will notice your felted soap getting smaller over time. Just compost the leftover alpaca fiber once the soap is gone.
